Re: Young Harrier (Crane Conflict Character)
Steward is also a combo with For Shame!. True but he has to be participating to use his effect or For Shame! The harrier’s ability last the whole phase and doesn’t stop you from dishonoring your opponents characters. Plus we are not so lacking in courtiers that Steward is necessary for For Shame!. ...

Re: Send me Haiku
Oh, right, there's a deadline for this, isn't there? Well then. It is clearly past time for me to stop fiddling with the wording and just put it up here. 1) Character name: Doji Hideyoshi 2) Real name: Angus Niven 3) In-game title: Courtier of the Crane Clan 4) Poem: GROWING STRONG: Festival lantern...

Re: Spies At Court - Neutral Event
Yeah, I meant it in a general, "roleplaying" sense - it pains me to cause dishonor to one of my own subjects :D . You're not causing dishonour to your subject, your Honoured vassals are drawing on their reputations to gather information to your advantage. Naturally, having done so, they m...

Re: The Perfect Gift (Crane Event)
Ugh, it's not because he didn't want the gift, the Two Refusals is a rule of etiquette. I mean, unless we're doing away with that too. But part of that rule is that you have to be sincere about it, which means maintaining the fiction that you really don't want to accept the gift the first two times...

Re: Her Father's Daughter
While we're on the subject, is Hotaru's use of "-dono" appropriate toward Bayushi Kachiko, Imperial Advisor? I thought -dono was reserved specifically for superiors in your own chain L5R has been somewhat inconsistent in its treatment of that honorific, and IIRC at one point it did define...

Re: L5R Speculation in 2017
I'm all for cutting the factions back down to their essence. If it means getting rid of the asinine "themes" and treating individual families as separate factions that required their own deck types that AEG kept foisting on us. The Crane is not a collection of faction with wildly diverse ...

Re: Fantasy Flight buys Legend of the Five Rings
...well. That was unexpected. I do like what I've seen of FFG's other games (played their 40K RPGs, looked at the Game of Thrones LCG - and wondered if it held any useful lessons for L5R). But cutting off the CCG right in the middle of advertising a new editions seems... abrupt.

Re: Spring 2015 Kotei Fictions Part 3A & 3B
Doji and Yasuki cozying up together? I did not see that coming. Interesting... it could augur well as we head into Onyx, with the Crab and Crane being the two Clans making the most decisively anti-Spider path choices. Or, given who we're dealing with... perhaps not. Tono already betrayed his agreeme...

Re: Liverpool, UK
I am quite interested to see how the Story Team interprets this result. A Daidoji and a Spider monk (one of the un-Tainted Shourido Uber Alles variety, perhaps?) batter each other silly, achieving mutual respect for one another's toughness and resilience, the Daidoji about to win... until they both ...

Re: Liverpool, UK
To be clear, by all accounts the bounty was quite immaterial to the selection of Hida O-Win to save - O-Win is the personal character of Eoin Burke, who is well-liked in the UK L5R community, and most any potential winner would have made that choice bounty or no. That said, trying to assemble a boun...
