Re: Question about "Dismantling the Imperial Bureaucracy"

I'm not too worried. A Rokugan without an imperial bureaucracy would be indistinguishable from our current situation, here we have one and a lot of alleged influence over it that never benefits us for some reason.

Re: A Proposal: Alliance with the Unicorn

There was also a question asked in the previous thread of who our best-looking eligible groom for Naleesh would be. If I may offer a not-very-serious suggestion - Doji Shunya? ;) He does come with Min-Hee's seal of approval... Oh my god the irony is delicious. But, let's be honest, for Naleesh* it ...

Re: Crane Paths and Kotei Choices

We're a bit hampered by the fact that we don't really know any Crane characters all that well. Who's our best-looking male card? Tametaka can't be it.

Re: Crane Paths and Kotei Choices

Actually, I thought that the entire thing was meant to make Shinjo Min-Hee an ally of the Crane. That outcome has pretty much petered out (mainly because there hasn't been any fiction whatsoever), but I thought it was pretty good as a rationale for getting involved.

Re: Crane Paths and Kotei Choices

The yardstick I will measure any future fiction with political elements with is the following: ⋅  Rational actors: Is the political element driven by an assessment of the current situation that led to an... "action plan" of sorts, and were things put in motion to achieve that goa...

Re: Crane Paths and Kotei Choices

You almost sound like you think honor was somehow stronger than, say, steel. That's crazy talk.

Re: Crane Paths and Kotei Choices

I think there is a tendency to conflate and/or confuse "the most honorable" with "goody two-shoes". And that is because the fiction usually does not do a good enough job to explain the difference. It is complicated for a western audience I imagine, even though they seem to manage...

Re: The Bride of the Emperor Storyline Tournament - Crane Bo

I believe with the most generous C Thomas Hand increasing his bounty, we are at $620? Ill add another 30 then so we're at a rounder number.

Re: Crane Paths and Kotei Choices

Just write the Harriers as you would the current scouts but call them Harriers again. It will end this debate.

Re: Crane Paths and Kotei Choices

On to the issue of Harriers causing issues in how players perceive honor within Rokugan: Harrier supporters liked to state that "Harriers sacrifice their honor for the good of the clan". While this is something Harriers in-setting tell each other, it is not accurate as an objective statem...
