All of this is just to force us somehow to work with the Spider which is a long term mistake.

The funniest thing about this storyline was how heavily it was foreshadowed ^_^

As far back as late CE people were already calling "Of course they are going to make the colonies rebel and initiate a Colony vs. Empire fight, they will make the non-Spider heir do something so outlandish and crass that the spider heir, despite being molded by the most hated faction, will seem like a decent alternative".
With how the story was set up, and with what the story team had to work with as aftermath from the previous plots, this is probably still the best play though. It can actually be somewhat interesting if its done well.

I don't like it. I really don't like the Crane siding with anyone who has something to do with the Spider Cult. But it makes things interesting.

Now i'm just concerned since Suzume Shindo is part of the Crane delegation for WC. I hope she doesn't get thrown under the bus since she is likely not so Progressive.
