Courts of the Crane Clan

While I have not posted on this site since the migration I hope that you all receive my post well. There is a war brewing between the scorpion and mantis both current allies to some extent. We the crane have always provided favors in return for something greater in the long run. Why don't we combine our strength and help end this war so that we may further secure our place as the left hand of the new emperor. I would like to target the Tsuruchi technique and the Bayushi Technique as our next two wins to save in a friendly manner in the hopes of ending the war between the clans. While currently I do not have the means to match the bounties tossed about I would like to pledge $20 (for each icon) to start our bounty in the hopes that more crane will joing the cause. To be clear;

Bounty of $20 (for each icon) to be saved to bring our clans closer and to end the war between the mantis and scorpion for a Crane to save the TSuruchi and Bayushi Technique.

Please rally and let us show Rokugan the strength of our courtiers once again.

We're not at war with either one. We're actually on very good terms with both right now.

I like seeing the Scorpion heavily occupied.

Why would we want to prevent the Mantis from giving the Scorpion a good kicking? The Scorpion are in a dangerously strong position right now, between their alliance with the Crab and their position as Seiken's #! courtly supporters. Seeing them cut down to size sounds lovely to me. Besides, we still have unprotected Icons of our own (Doji Courtier Academy and Kakita Technique say hi) and long-term alliances to tend to. Even if this were a project to look at if we had spare Icon picks, I don't think it can reasonably come above those on the priority list.

If we for some reason don't need to save courtiers or dueling, we could certainly help out. But frankly I wouldn't ask us to put a lot of trust in an alliance with the Scorpion right now without them doing something to earn that trust. Winter Court has not been a good indicator of how feasible a truce with the Scorpion is.

I think Crane need something to bring us back to our previous glory. We hold no positions of importance and short of a huge bounty for the emperors bride I don't see where we can get in. If mediating this war is not enough incentive then maybe we join in on the bounty for Crane to again be the bride of the emperor. If Im not mistaken I believe someone has already posted a $300 bounty to that effect.

Found it. Kakita Kae for empress sounds like a good rallying point. Maybe we could all chip in to the bounty to make it as attractive as possible to all those going.

Tacticus is spot on. Being friendly with both and having both of them fight each oter is PERFECT. Let's try and keep it that way as long as possible.
