Yep. Defensive honor is the best honor :D .

Also, I am slightly disturbed by the fact that dueling will be back, but nowhere did I find that Crane are masters at it.

Also, I guess I am no longer the clan champion... Well, hoping that this is Hotaru: https://images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.c ... _art_4.png

(or that she has similarily awesome art).

Didn't Makoto die in the last fiction?

Nitoshi showed up at Tsukimi's doorstep saying he killed Makoto and the he needs to kill her too, to prove his loyalty to Kanpeki.

Yep. But I take the last fiction as semi-canon.
There was something great in store for Makoto, but they did not have the chance to explore it (there was that fiction with vague references to children, sister or something like that)

Simple way to have defensive honor possible occured to me - what if those small element symbols at the lower right corner of Province cards mean that when you succesfully defend that provincie, you may take the corresponding ring action.

Now, I do not think that this is probable (because the Crab province shown does something similar as a reaction). But it would be cool. :)

I'm currently inclined to think that the element symbols on Provinces are a restriction, with each province required to have a different element assigned to them.

On the bright side, the next time the website goes down I can just blame the Tsunami.

If you're having Crane problems I feel bad for you son,

Just make an 50% opaqued version of the Crane stronghold. Yep, ran outta tokens! Our destiny is at an end....

I can see Crane focusing on discarding the opponents hand. This would force them to either give a lot of honor or work without a hand.

Looking again at our stronghold (Shizuka Toshi), my hopes for defensive honor are leaving me. I think that the ability has a very offensive (and what is worse... military!) feel.

It's going to be a much more offensive game. But ours will focus on the political conflicts.

I think it is far to early to jump to that conclusion. The action is viable in both offensive and defensive political conflicts.

Consider Brash Samurai(?) which is perfectly designed to be a single turn defender. Solo defend against Military to honor him which turns him into a 4/3 and then he fades away giving you 2 honor.

From what I can tell Crane will be involved in conflicts but will be less focused on breaking provinces. It will be more focused on honoring personalities and then gaining honor when they fade away.
