--------------Keeper/Seeker Roles--------------
-Roles selected by the top of Clan Player at Winter Court World Championship Top of Clan players dictate which role card MUST be used for all players of the clan in all Organized Play Tournaments

-Selected Role must not be one already selected by another clan in the same event OR the role the held in the previous year.

-The Keeper roles increase the influence value from your clan stronghold by three, allowing you to include more out-of-clan cards when building your decks. During the game, after you win a challenge using the ring of the role's element as the defender, you gain one fate.

-The Seeker roles allow you to include two provinces which share their element with the role in your set of five provinces, replacing another element's province. Then, when one of your provinces with that element is revealed during the game, you gain one fate.


--------------Gencon Opening Ceremony (Gencon Thursday 1pm Event)--------------
- Crowd excitement will be measured both in-person and on social media and will contribute to which clan hosts the Emperors Winter Court and the prizes/decorations at the wolrd Championship

--------------Kiku Matsuri Preview Event (Gencon Thursday Event)--------------
-5 Rounds, 30 card deck constructed from one core set. Rounds will have extended time limits as player are learning the game (15 extra minutes round 1, 10 extra minutes rounds 2 and 3, 5 extra minutes rounds 4 and 5)

- Participating Players get a core set, full-color box, and a pin of your chosen clan, and 6 copies extended art WAY OF CLAN cards to be exchanged with your opponent each round.

- Gencon First player token going to players who finish first 3 rounds.

- Winner of rounds 2 and 3 receives a Keeper initiate extended art card.

- Winner of rounds 4 and 5 receives a seeker initiate extended art card.

- Players who win at least 3 of 5 rounds get glossy plastic versions of clan stronghold

- Players who win all 5 round receive Hatamoto title!



--------------Gencon Tournament (Friday/Saturday event)---------------------
- 7 swiss Rounds on friday, top 16 cut to elimination rounds on Saturday. Swiss rounds have an extra 5 minutes as players learn the game

-Players receive a Gencon First Player Token and 6 copies extended art WAY OF CLAN cards to be exchanged with your opponent each round.

-Winner of rounds 2 and 4 receives a Keeper initiate extended art card.

-Winner of rounds 5 and 7 receives a seeker initiate extended art card.

- Players who win at least 4 of 7 rounds get glossy plastic versions of clan stronghold

-At the end of the seven Swiss rounds, the top two players for each clan by standings will earn the esteemed Hatamoto title. Any player who does not earn the Hatamoto title this way and successfully reaches the Top 4 on Saturday will also be promoted.

-At the end of the seven Swiss rounds, the top player for each clan by standings will participate in a Roles of Rokugan ceremony to choose the clan roles for the first Winter Court World Championship! They will each receive a commemorative stone role card featuring their selection.

-After each game during the seven Swiss rounds, the player with the most honor will be recorded (the winner of the game wins ties). This distinction will be totaled by clan over all seven rounds and then divided by the total number of players who selected that clan to find an average for each clan. Each player from the clan with the highest average at the end of Swiss rounds will receive a set of metal honor tokens.
-Players who progress to Saturday's cut of Top 16 single-elimination rounds will receive an engraved and painted acrylic honor dial.

-The Top 8 competitors win a full set of each clan's glossy plastic stronghold card.

-Players who reach the Top 4 are awarded a double-sided, engraved, wooden Imperial Favor card, in addition to gaining the esteemed Hatamoto title if not yet earned at the end of the Swiss rounds.

-Second place wins a colorful finalist plaque.

-The champion of the Gen Con tournament takes home a gorgeous acrylic champion trophy!



--------------Gencon Tournament (Sunday Event)---------------------
- 3 swiss rounds

-Participating players in the Casual Tournament on Sunday will receive a commemorative Gen Con first player token.

-Players will receive the Way of the Clan card for their clan upon completing Round 1.

-The winner of each game in Round 2 will win a Keeper Initiate extended art card.

-The winner of each game in Round 3 will win a Seeker Initiate extended art card.



--------------Honored Preview Event (London September event)---------------------
-5 swiss rounds. Rounds will have extended time limits as player are learning the game (15 extra minutes round 1, 10 extra minutes rounds 2 and 3, 5 extra minutes rounds 4 and 5)

-Participating invitees will receive a Core Set to build their decks with, a full-color deckbox, and a pin for their chosen clan.

-Players also get six copies of the extended art Way of the Clan card for their chosen clan. At the start of each of the five rounds, they will trade one of these cards for one of their opponent's, learning the ways of the opposing Great Clan.

-The winner of each game during rounds 2 and 3 receives a Keeper Initiate extended art card. For rounds 4 and 5, the winner of each game receives a Seeker Initiate extended art card.

-Players that win at least three of the five rounds will receive a glossy plastic version of their clan's stronghold.

-The esteemed Hatamoto title is bestowed on each player who completes all five rounds undefeated. This achievement awards incredible prizes, a guaranteed seat for purchase at the next World Championship, and recognition in the Hall of Honor.

-We will also choose our favorite #L5RHonored application from each clan's attendees, and award those players with a set of metal honor tokens.




------Hatamoto Title--------
-Must continue to play Clan you won Hatamoto status with in all future Kotei or lose title status

-Will lose status after 2 years unless you win a new bestowment of title

-Receive a Hatamoto pin

-Receive Hatamoto Playmat of Clan you won title with

-May purchase a reserved seat for the next Winter Court Championship

-Players who a second bestowment of the titel receive an engraved token box instead of a second playmat

-Introduced by name and clan at the start of each Kotei

-Lead the banzai chant at each kotai

-Have access to a special gathering point at kotei events

- A player who DEFEATS a Hatamoto during swiss rounds receives a Triumph pin

-Given a Ceremonial Triumph pin that the Hatamoto may give to the first player that defeats them OR arrange a special event in which to distribute it

-Hatamoto’s performances are recorded for use in their clans standing for the Emperor's Favor



------Winter Court World Championship--------
-November 1st-15th at the Fantasy Flight Games Center in Roseville, MN

-Top of Clan will determine Clan Seeker/Keeper role. No one may select a role that has already been chosen this event. Winner get a stone engraving of their choice with their name on it.

-Champion will be declared Shogun and make a critical story choice!

-3 Rounds

-Each competitor receives an exclusive commemorative pin depicting the five elemental rings.

-A random competitor with the most wins from each clan receives a textless, extended art clan champion prize card!

-Top performers earn more prizes

------In-Store Events------
-Each calendar quarter, starting at the beginning of 2018, participating local game stores can purchase a Deluxe Quarterly Kit to host their in-store events with official prizes. They can select from our recommended Weekly Play or Monthly Play structures, or choose a different structure altogether. Each quarter also features a special bonus event, ranging from new player nights to challenging championships.

------Kotei Series------
-The Great Clans of Rokugan constantly vie for superiority, trying to claim a valuable asset and the favor of the Emperor each year. The prestigious Kotei and Grand Kotei tournaments are held at locations around the world, summoning players from far and wide by offering incredible prizes and fun experiences. The very best players at each event will be awarded the title of Hatamoto, eternalizing their performance and earning recognition for themselves and their clan at future premier events. This is FFG we are talking about- they aren't the best company for bringing their games into the tournament scene.
So if anything this model will copy X-Wing:
Kotei = Regional (1 per State-ish)
Grand Kotei = Large tournament series like X-Wing had with the Open Series, so only 1 in US, 1 in Aus, 1 in Europe, 1 in Africa, etc etc..
But that's my guess.
Trust me when I say that Australia will have official FFG things for L5R.
