I am happiest with the thing that came before the duel; regardless of execution, it shows that the story team has understood that the Crane need to be portrayed as working on reestablishing a connection with the Emperor. Well, it seems we're getting out of the doghouse. About time.

Sinichi was not a perfect Crane in the story, but a bully who kept talking and talking and talking. Totally not the Crane I want to see.

He's a more classic Crane, like Kakita Toshimoko in Private Lessons. I for one missed our swagger. It separated us from the Lion.

I suspect that he and his brother are going to be focus characters for us, and that one will be a jerk and the other more reserved, which is a very cool dynamic. Hopefully I'm right.

Not like a Crane. Lion swagger is more like stoic bravado. Crane swagger is nonchalant sureness. A swaggering Lion is a keyed up drill sergeant. A swaggering Crane is the coolest kid on the playground.
