Is this where I post bounties? Because there's a bill burning money in my pockets itching to go into the Kakita-Kae-revenge fund.

$50 for a Crane murderkilling Hida Kozan, to be specific.

As a crane all I would do would be to slip a Oneyearu (the ronin that Seiken met in the second city) into my deck, win a kotei and then ask that they make One Eye kill the emerald champion in duel in front of Seiken, I'm sure they would LOVE to play with that idea.

You just have to be creative.

It is highly unlikely that the Story Team is going to take a story result where Clan X chooses to kill Character Y, and then write a fiction where Clan X has nothing to do with it. Especially where, as here, the whole point would be to avoid the potential consequences of your own decision. Even if Oneiyara delivered the killing blow, it would be something instigated by the Crane.

Now, that doesn't mean you have to be care if it gets held against the Crane that they killed Imperial Official X, Y, and/or Z. But thinking you can kill someone by winning with a Crane deck and then not having it reflect on the Crane? That's just wishful thinking.

Probably best to start a dedicated thread, so they don't get lost.

I really don't think you need to take such a narrow view. But you are entitled to it.

I don't think it's taking a particularly narrow view to expect that in a time when the Story Team is looking around for more ways to make player choices matter, they'll take every possible way to make player choices matter. If a Kotei winner chooses to kill the Emerald Champion, and that winner was playing Crane? Having the Crane play some part in that death carries so much more story potential than just having it be a random event that's no-one's fault that I would be gobsmacked if they didn't do it that way. Especially if the motivation for said player to kill the Emerald Champion was "the Emerald Champion should be a Crane". If I'm a Story Team member in that situation, I am rubbing my hands together with glee at what I've just been handed. And if the player in question says "Oh, but I don't want my Clan to be responsible for this" - well, I might choose to have the Crane try to obscure their role, in-story, but you can bet the Crane will have a role.

I agree here: the only ones worth saving are Mitohime and Dainagon. Maybe an extra point for Ryushi, because he is Ben's card. And if we have space, I'd say the Asahina could be useful.

I have zero experience playing the CCG but given this participation incentive, I am thinking of actually learning to play just to be able to show up to the one kotei in my country.

You should! Especially with how competitive Crane Military is, every Crane player is a chance to name a Legion Commander.
