It can be found on the AEG boards.

The Sanctified Ones
A Level 10 Tournament Series for the L5R CCG

It is common knowledge that the person and the estate of the Empress are protected by the Seppun, a family of eminently honorable warriors and priests who put the defense of the Imperial line above all things, including their lives. The physical security of the Empress aside, the purity and holiness of her home and belongings are the province of the Hidden Guard. The Hidden Guard are extremely few in number, however, and maintaining their vigil over the Empress and her estate is all they can manage under normal circumstances. For this reason, the sensei of the Hidden Guard select from among the Great Clans a number of shugenja, priests chosen for their exceptional piety and purity, to oversee the duties of the Hidden Guard in lands beyond the Imperial holdings.
These specially selected shugenja, known as the Sanctified Ones, are each assigned the holdings of a Great Clan, with another assigned to the lands of the Minor Clan Alliance and one final priest granted dominion over the unaligned lands. Whenever the Empress wishes to travel to or through these lands, the priest tasked with that region travels ahead and ensures that all relevant holdings and estates are properly purified and worthy of the Empress’ presence. It is relatively uncommon for the Hidden Guard to assign a priest to watch over the lands of his own clan, but when such an appointment does occur, it is a great honor, for it indicates that the Hidden Guard believe the priest is capable of putting aside his loyalty and bias and serving the Empress above his own family and clan. There are few greater honors bestowed by the Seppun family.

The winner of each of these tournaments may select one currently living and legal shugenja personality from his clan to join the ranks of the Sanctified Ones. In the event that there are no suitable, legal shugenja personalities for such a clan, the winner may supply the name of a new character from the clan’s shugenja family in order to create a personality to fulfill the position.

List of those Tournaments (in progress)

Um, if the Crane win one of these tournaments, they have to choose a Crane Clan Shugenja (its in the description).

That being said, if a Crane were to win one of these, I think we have a justifiable argument to name a new Asahina.

Tell me, what'd he say?

Wouldn't we HAVE to choose Asahina Ekei?

He's our only legal Shugenja personality, and it says we can only make a new personality if we have no living legal ones.

So, by my understanding, we have no choice if we win this tournament.

...Which isn't an argument against us trying to win it, of course...

Looks like an argument to win 2x at least to me, we have 1 legal in clan shugenja and our only other one getting story time atm is the Daimyo - so one would think that would be a "no" choice regardless.

We defintely have to win two of those. Just to see another Asahina in story
(and hopefully as a carded character). I soooo need my Asahina fix...

And just in case, should a Crane win tournament #2 after Ekei has already been picked
I'm offering a 100$ bounty if the Asahina is named Timaru.  Grin

Just another incentive to win these things...

I would say that Ekei is not a suitable choice for this position, given her age.

Since it's the second time I see you making this mistake (you did it yesterday), I'll correct you : it's 'he', he is a male...  Wink

I would gladly see another Crane shugenja ! I'm dreaming of Crane Enlightment decks ! I'm dreaming of Shugenja-Courtier Honor deck ! Smiley

I played against Yoda tonight (who was playing a wonderful The Last One Enlightment Phoenix build), and he agreed with me saying that Crane Enlightment was a bad thing ! ^^
Do not try and focus on what might work (he beat my slow monks to the ground with his Scout Shiro Daidoji Honor deck). Or do it just for fun !

I think the last Asahina to be in the story for us was actually Asahina Hira  Grin maybe the Keeper of the Void can come back to L5R for us!

Did I say somewhere that I wanted to play a competitive Crane Enlightment deck ? I don't recall saying that...

And it's not like you actually perfectly know that I like to try a lot of decks for fun, right ?...

I offer a bounty of 200 koku for a Crane win, 400 koku if someone else covers shipping and handling.  (It's marginal, but I like the idea of doubling the bounty on a near-whim.)
