There's also dice in the base.  ;D

And not visible: a bottle of Bombay Sapphire in the back.

Basically my wife is amazing. :3

I'm still new to cooking, so bare with me here.

Both images kind of suck. The top one is spaghetti connected with pieces of hot dog and then boiled, covered with tomato pasta sauce and some cheese and was devoured, and proceeded to be amazing.

The bottom picture, is what I call a hamdoger. I am not sure what it's really called (or if they actually have names), but it is a hot dog and rolled-up hamburger beef cooked in old bay and some other spices, and then plopped into a grilled piece of bread (I now use hot dog buns for this, and it is even better), and covered in ketchup. It tasted amazing.

Love the man bouquet!

Care to share the recipe for the cucumber salad? It sounds like something I would like!

Oops, dunno how I missed this.

The cucumber salad is really simple. Just julienne two cucumbers, then combine 1 part rice wine vinegar with 1 part sesame oil and a splash of soy sauce. Toss the dressing in with the cucumber.

Not at night, but it was lunch today! Buffalo chicken wrap with baby spinach leaves and mayonaise, simple yet effective.

Batch of homemade shepherd's pie in the oven!  Squee!

The potato-mash was excellent... must resist nomming up the last bits of it before the pie is done.

I actually used the recipie on Gordon Ramsey's homepage. I wanted to make a shepherd's pie since one of the store-chains here at home were advertising various recipies, but I looked at theirs and it didn't really thrill me or get me excited. So I looked around on Google. After a few searches, I got the one on Ramsey's webpage. The filling for the pie tasted delicious before I put it in the oven, and the mash was OH SO GOOD. I've usually just used butter and milk for the mash, but this recipie had heavy cream, 2 egg yolks and parmesan, and man did that really add wonderful flavor to it.

I love shepherd's pie! I substitute ground chicken for the beef, and use heavy cream, and mozzarella cheese in the mashed potatoes. Never added an egg yolk, may try that next time I make it!

Traditional shepherd's pie should be made of lamb (shepherd after all!), but I used ground beef since ground lamb isn't easy to come by.

The pie turned out awesome, and we enjoyed it at the gaming table... my sweetie had a beer with his pie, while I went for English cider.

It's not easy to come by here either, but I use chicken or veggie substitute anyway.

The almighty internets provides :D

I noticed that I omitted the tomato paste from my pie, but I can't say that I missed the presence of the tomato in a dish like this.

Tonight, I made this for my girlfriend:

It is a thai chicken with coconut milk and curry. Some kroepoek chips, white basmati rice and a bottle of Cotes du Rhone 2010...
