She is pretty privacy conscious, so no FB update. ;)

Mmm... Shall I add, Kasukaru-san, that I wouldn't have chosen a red wine  ;D. Actually, it is just a matter of taste, red wine is fine with this and Côtes du Rhône 'marries' (FR) well with it. I, personally, would have chosen a Côtes de Castillon btw. But I recommend you try a white Beaujolais next time, it would have been my choice for a curry chicken. :)

Actually, Ayaki-san, you are absolutely right. I had no idea beforehand what would go well with a curry and I chose the red because I thought (wrongly) that its strength would balance the curry heat. But the Cote du Rhone was very light and not that good and in hindsight a white wine would have been better. Our local supermarket in Oxford doesn't have Beaujolais blanc, as far as I know, but they have a very decent choice of various white wines other than that.

Oh, ok. :) But, just to be nitpicky a little bit, I wouldn't have chosen whatever white wine. I love Alsatian white wines, but I don't think it would have been a good choice neither. I would have chosen a more southern white wine (a Beaujolais or a South-West of France white wine) . BUT, I can only guess you cannot find that much choice everywhere. :)

Well, many thanks for the advice. I will remember it next time I make a curry.

Tonight I made a Guinness Cheddar Souffle and Arugula Salad:

I have never made a successful souffle. Never. I've made tasty dinner custards while attempting souffles, but never a truly successful souffle. Souffles are hard!

This time I came close, though. Closer than I usually get. The souffles rose, but not enough to break the rim of the ramekin. It took 35 minutes to peak the egg whites this time (it was raining outside) which may have had something to do with it...

But the flavor was GREAT! I used two types of cheddar, parmesan, and Guinness Extra Stout. My kitchen smells awesome now.  ;D

Soufflés are hard! I have a recipe for a french chocolate soufflé that always crashes on me. Still tastes great and I usually pawn it off a specialty french brownie and make it seem intentional... LoL!

I should've just made a quiche. Oh well.

I am eager to try it again, though! Maybe next week...

Again chicken Alfredo, though on a base of noodles this time.

I think I will also have my abomination sandwiches for a snack. Strawberry jelly, nutella, and peanut butter. 3 things that work in pairs... so why not all 3?

Tonight I made Pasta Alla Terra:

This was so delicious, it should have been illegal.

Key Lime Pie with a Southern Comfort syrup. I'll get a pic of the next one, as this one didn't live for more than an hour...

Tonight me and a friend made some Korean bulgogi for a few people, turned out quite nice, even though we substituted the asian pears with some granny smith apples.

Well all in all, nice to cook something fun again, should do this more often... (i.e. I need more people to visit me so I cba to cook more fun food...  :-) )
