Yes I read the reaction.

Reaction: After an action targets a card in this unit: Negates this card's destruction from the action's effects.

The reaction does trigger if any card in the unit is targeted, but only negates its own destruction. Unless im missing some kind of rule about targeting or something (which is possible) if I kill the personality this follower is attached to, the the follower is going to die. If im wrong, please point it out, im not seeing it on my own.

Oh dear humble pie for me I read the card three times and read it wrong each time :s

Same here. No matter how many times I read it, I'm definitely reading it wrong. I kinda like the way i'm reading it though. :boogie:

Two Words: Superior Opponent. The Focus Effect isn't an action. Basically, neuter two units with one duel. Problem averted.

It's irrelevant anyway: "this" refers to the card targeted, not the attachment, so if you target the personality, it is the personality's destruction which is negated. On the other hand, this is a perfect target for focus effects indeed (unless the guy cleverly reacts to the duel itself) such as Superior Opponent and for effects that bow or send home (The trap is Sprung).

I rated it great on accident thinking it could save other cards in the unit. I would change the rating to just good now. I think DGC can make fair to decent use out of it and Unicorn Commanders might try it out, but without reliable Follower recursion I actually see them using it less. Only being able to save it's se;f makes it sub par to Snow Riders, Moto Hunters and the new one sent out with the Uni previews imo. That being said, 7F Cavalry, a mild form of investment protection and a respectable action give it -some- merit.

although, and I only caught this after I had typed that last paragraph, if what Kasukaru says is true, which I can totally see how it might be since CCG wording rulings can get crazy unintuitive, then it's value just goes up.

I would like to agree with you, just because it makes a practical kind of sense, but the wording isn't clear. I'll have to wait for a ruling to say whether this card is good or great.

"Kagami is so great! Military decks don't use send home!"

Seriously though, this guy is fairly "meh". Great force, but kinda pricey with an ability that is solid but nothing to get excited about. Probably see 2-3 of them in Unicorn Commander but that's about it.

Dial "C" for Cavalry!

I'm all for people running this card just to show people who decide to play with Doji Sozen a thing or two. Please, run 3 in every deck!  ;D

Ah HA! Thanks to someone on the AEG boards, I think I figured out why this card is worded the way it is.

It only negates its own destruction because it says, this card's destruction.

If it were worded to protect other cards in the unit, it would be worded more like Muscle & Steel.

or like Chagatai's Armor

I also like that this card has a 1HR, it might be tough for big attachment decks to find someone to attach it to.

Deadly Orders

I kinda doubt it. "Ha! I'll pop my destruction prevention against my own action!" "Ha! I'll destroy your attachment." "..."
