I like how he has a better Force to gold ratio, but I dont think he's doing much to help Scout gain honor. Scout military fans might like him, but Scouts as a whole are still rather unimpressive.

I think he's really designed with EE in mind. What with each clan getting multiple win conditions (except Spider), I was almost instantly under the assumption the Iron Crane Scouts would turn into a military theme. Of course this isn't a certainty (it just seems natural to me. Would certainly make designing them easier and work better with Scout cards designed for military clans.), but under that assumption he becomes a good start for this new direction. If this proves not to be true then I would agree he just wouldn't have enough oomph for current Crane builds.

Zoushi only removed your own presence, and had to be opposed. This guy is cheaper and has more versatility in the application of his ability. As a minor note, Zoushi doesn't have the Iron Crane trait, which is more relevant than it sounds.

In the case that Akagi is in play, he's +1F compared to Zoushi. Nothing more was being eluded to.

Honestly, I never really considered Zoushi for military decks because it removes one of your personalities from the battle but the opponent is still there. Even with the -4 force to an opposing personality, the ability never made me feel like it was helping me take a province. This new guy does.

i marked him great because this is our "4th" iron crane with ~4F. Our 3rd one with 7G for ~4F; which is "on par" with military.

7G for ~4F= Yuki (kept having ~ because yuki IS pretty much on average 4F because you'll bring recons with him), Kirimi and now Masafuni
and our last one is Sadayori.

so if you have:

x3 yuki
x3 kirimi (below average recon for military
x3 sakahiko
x3 masafuni
x3 sadayori
x1 Akagi

as your core people, Military crane scouts don't look to bad right there with Gold:Force and battle actions/ recons.
