50s only fighting 50s would be creating endgame pvp, not breaking it. Are you upset that your endgame doesn't involve facerolling level 20s anymore? :p

People still play this game?  1.1 killed the game for me.

The only thing 1.1 "broke" was Ilum. Maybe if you're an open world pvp player it's the end of the world, but for those of us who prefer pve content, 1.1 was a good thing.

Also you not liking a patch doesn't equate to everyone else quitting as well oh glorious leader ;)

1.1 broke every aspect of endgame pvp, not just Ilum

Nice quote fail lol.  No, considering I preferred twinking (with XP off brackets, meaning it was fully geared characters vs other fully geared characters) I much prefer balanced teams.  Regardless, on my server (echoed by friends on other servers) queue pops plummeted when they introduced 50 only warzones, due primarily to the fact there just wasnt enough 50s to get consistent pops.  Id prefer to not faceroll 20s repeatedly, but thats better than going from 2 minute queues to 15-20 minute queues

i actually prefer the 50's only bracket, i actually felt sorry for lower levels with my operative.
Lack of expertise is very noticeable.

The thing with patches is that they can just re-patch and fix the problems that pop up (or calm the whiners). I don't bother myself with complaining about the little things. Who cares about minor patches? The core game is incredible. I've had more fun playing for 1 week than I have for 1 year in WoW. To me, that says something. There is so much stuff to do, and your decisions matter. I've talked to people who played the exact same character I have but they went darkside, or neutral, and it completely changes the storyline options. I am going to be playing alts for a very long time. Beautifully and ingenious game design.

I personally cannot wait until the free month is over so all of the whining 15 year olds will GTFO because their mom won't pay the subscription fee. Then we will only have the players that actually care about the game remaining. I am so tired of kiddies trolling on general chat about stupid shiz just so they can rile people up.

But did your first month in WoW feel any different than your first month with TOR?

I wager they were both filled with the same sense of excitement and exploration.

I'll be very interested in seeing how the game is doing 4-6 months from now, when it's no longer brand new, and the gaming companies have released other games to drag players away with.

You just described the internet.  Quick!  Unplug your computer from the wall to get away from the kiddies!  Run away! :D

I've actually had a real good time, too, so far.  I am enjoying the game, and enjoying seeing Bioware go through all the normal issues you have in any MMO, especially early on:

Craft skill imbalances (Slicing, Biochem)

PvP screwing EVERYTHING up (1.1)

Droves of Blizzard mouthpieces talking about how WoW is better and kiddies who need to go out and get some sun :D

So far they've been very prompt and have been rolling out a steady stream of fixes.  I am rather impressed overall with their post-deployment attention to the game.

^^^ Ah, slicing. I am so rich btw, I was banking on a cool half mil creds. Slicing for everyone!  :D

Yes, I am also impressed with Biowares handling of the MMO scene. They are staying surprisingly clean and prompt with fixes and damage control in a steady and professional way.

Thumbs up Bioware.  You my dawgs.

We are pretty much playing the beta still, the masses of foaming-at-the-mouth fanboys could not wait another month to get their hands on it. Luckly the people at Bioware do not sleep or eat or take restroom breaks.

Eh, all MMOs are a constant beta scene.  Some of them just approach it differently.  Instead of shutting the servers down for incredible amounts of time (see WoW on any content patch day, and especially at launch) they have at least attended to all of the game breaking bugs and just let us play through what pops up.  I remember when playing WoW that if it was content patch day, you wouldn't be able to play the game for a day or two easily.  That was through WotLK and into Cataclysm.  When it first launched, this weekly routine Bioware is performing was more like 24ish hours of downtime every week on Blizzard's servers, and that was IF your server came back up at all!

There is no such thing as a finished product MMO, the nature of the business is to constantly improve on what you have, hence how it becomes a perpetual beta.  ;D

Ahem:

Content patch day in US - downtime 8am-12 noon or so.
Content patch day in EU same time - downtime 4pm - 8pm GMT. Later in mainland Europe. I'd say that consitutes losign a day, it's at PEAK time.

Craft skill imbalances (Slicing, Biochem)

I like how they changed Biochem medpacks because Biochem was "too necessary" to raid, and added a 15% last stand on the medpack instead of a HoT, which is like a billion times better, forces all self respecting tanks to take it, and tbh I'd be happier if my entire RAID had it (which all but about 3 or 4 of the core 16 do :P )

Ever since they 'fixed' anti-aliasing, I have not been able to see holocalls, lightsabers or energy bolts in the cutscenes. Anyone know wtf is going on? What can I do? I survived for awhile, but I plan on making an alt soon and I don't like not seeing who is talking to me.

2 months playing. Game is sill incredible. Going to be playing this for at least 6 months, went ahead and purchased the 6 month subscription.

1 level 50 Light side V sorc
1 level 10 Marauder

a ton more alts to come. I plan on making an alt of every class. Matt is going dark side for every class, I am going light side, then we watch each other's class cut scenes to see what the difference is.

Edit: level 50 not 60! typo, geeze!

On that note, I haven't played in about 5 days since my harddrive borked, but I've got 2 raiding 50s and a level 36 (and some random sub-20s)

I played too much :D

The new patch is out. I was waiting around for a PVP match and some guy literally exploded next to me, spewing forth green nastiness all over the group of 50 people standing there. Thought nothing of it ... after a few minutes my character started showing signs of sickness ... tried cleansing it off, nothing. Soon afterwards there was a warning over the intercom system in the fleet that there was a terrible plague spreading, that was when my character also exploded in a sickly green mess, dying horribly and infecting everyone else I was standing next to. My bad guys ... shame on me, I'm a freaking biologist, I should have known better.  :D

Need to go to tatooine and pick up the vaccine apparently. The exploding death will never end!

BTW, put a group together with Matt and two friends to try out one of the new flashpoints. Our tank had the plague ... we had some balls that night.
