Hey all,

Just like in last year our TO has asked me to invite all the players of the Crane Clan to our Kotei - held in Szczyrk (nice mountainous town just next to our city Bielsko-Biala).
This is our second Kotei to be held - last year we had almost 70 players, we have learned a lot and hope to make even bigger and better Kotei this time.
The Kotei will be held in a hotel: http://www.orle-gniazdo.pl/main-en So you do not need to care about lodging at all.

Is there going to be any special deals for staying there during the event? The message itself implied that it would be free which i don't think is gonna be the case

so i thought i would ask.

L5R KOTEI 2012 - SZCZYRK
24/25 March 2012

The group of L5r CCG fans, mostly oldtimers by the way, has an honor to invite You for the second, prestigious Kotei event., this time we invite You to Beskidy Mountians, which surround our picturesque city.

This time we have chosen to place our Kotei in mountainous Szczyrk (15km form Bielsko-Biała), where we have rented for our players the conference center „Orle Gniazdo” („Eagle’s Nest”). We have planned it in such a manner to enable the pleasant gaming with the easy access to lodging and good ford, with picturesque scenery and additional attractions for both players and people you take with. Your wife or husband do not want you to go to the Kotei alone, you feel bad while leaving your children for a weekend? You do not have to anymore!
We give you a place where for the 3 days you will have an occasion to play non-stop in different collectible and non-collectible card games, and the central point is being held by the players of Legend of the Five Rings CCG. We are ready to host up to 150 people (and that is just for the main event!).

This is our invitation – it will be a great honor to host you. We do hope you will visit us!

I. Basic Information - Main Event

Date: 24-25 March 2012 (Saturday-Sunday) + side event Drunken Master at 23 March (Friday)
Place: Conference Centre "Orle Gniazdo", Szczyrk

We start play at: Saturday: 11:30AM (registering starts at. 9:30AM)
We plan to finish at: Sunday about 03:00 PM (main event)
Format: Emperor Edition Arc Constructed
Rounds:
* Saturday: 6/7 swiss with X-2 system elimination to day 2 finals,
* Sunday: Top 8/Top 16 (depends on attendance),
Finale shall be player in a single elimination system matchs, up to two won games per match, without time limit.
Costs:
30 euro paid at the tournament, or 25 euro in pre-registration
or 65 euro – full option – tournament, two nights at the hotel + full accommodation from Friday to Sunday!

Rounds of the Tournamnet:
**Saturday** - Swiss, the ammount of rounds shall be dependant on the number of attendants:
8-32 players: 6 swiss rounds
33+ players: 7 swiss rounds
**SUNDAY** - finals played with single elimination. The tops are dependant on the number of players:
1-20 players: Top 2
21-40 players: Top 4
41-80 players: Top 8
81-160 players: Top 16
161+ players: Top 32

All the games in the finals shall be played to two victories.
In top 32 and/or top 16 you will have a time limit of 80 minutes. Shall the match not conclude in a given time we use the Palmer rules:
* if the first game is not concluded – it is continued until the victor emerges and He is the one who shall pass;
* if the time is called during the second game - the match ends, the victor of the first game becomes the victor of the match;
* if the time is called during the third game – the players get additional 30 minutes, after that time if the match is not concluded, the victor of the first game becomes the victor of the match.

Top 8 and higher shall be player without time limits.

Prizes:
- Every attendant shall get a set of EE legal Kotei promo cards – aviable only during Kotei 2012 events.
- Every attendant who's choose full accommodation option (65 euro) also get two Emperor Edition boosters.
- Additional cards and boosters shall be given to the players at places:
* Winner: Kotei Storyline prize + 2x Emperor Edition Booster Display + Emperor Edition Rare Set + Second City Rare Set + 100$ ticket to AEG store;
* 2nd place: 2x Emperor Edition Booster Display + Emperor Edition Rare Set + Second City Rare Set;
* 3rd-4th place: 1,5x Emperor Edition Booster Display + Emperor Edition Rare Set + Second City Rare Set;
* 5th-8th place: 1x Emperor Edition Booster Display + Emperor Edition Rare Set;
* 9th-12th place: 10x Emperor Edition booster;
* 13th-16th place: 5x Emperor Edition booster;
* 17th-24th place: 3x Emperor Edition booster;
- Additional prizes shall also be given to the Top Clan players:
each Top Clan Player: 1/2x Emperor Edition Booster Display + Full Bleed Card set for this clan;
- Additional prizes shall also be given to the Bottom Clan players:
each Bottom Clan Player: 2x Emperor Edition booster;

- Special prizes shall also be given to the following:
* The Sensei – the oldest player
* The Youngling – the youngest
* The Wanderer – the player from the farthest place (Google map decides!)
* The Damsel – the best female player.

Main Event Requirements:

II. Honor Event - Costume Contest

Our Honor Event is a costume competition. Every player attending the main tournament is allowed, and encouraged, to take part.

Prizes:
* Winner: Honor Event Storyline prize + 1x Emperor Edition Booster Display + 50$ ticket to AEG store;
* 2nd place: 1/2x Emperor Edition Booster Display
* 3rd place: additional Emperor Edition boosters

III. Side Events

As the tournament is being held in such a special place we could not resist preparing the following side events:

1. Drunken Master
Date: 23 March (Friday)
Costs: Just some funds for the drinks - exatly prices in polish zloty will be provided in next few days here...
Start: 08:00 PM
Format: Emperor Edition Arc Constructed
Rules: Hmm... these are quite obvious and well known for most of the players, of course only the adults are allowed to take part in Drunken Master.
Aim: integration of players before the main event.

2. Saturday Side Events - to choose.
Date: 24 March (Saturday)
Start: 09:00 PM
Costs: Free of charge
Formats to choose: War of Honor or Higlander

3. Second Chance
Date: 25 March (Sunday)
Costs: 5 euro or free if the player took part in the main event.
Start: 10:30 AM
Format: Emperor Edition Arc Constructed
Rules: we secure some additional prizes for this side event – so that players may play some games while watching the top 16/Top 8 fighting..
Aim: as much fun as possible at the end of Kotei.

- from Slovakia/Czech Republic - just travel directly to city Bielsko-Biala, next to the city Szczyrk (20 minutes from Bielsko),
- from Germany - first travel to city Katowice, next to Bielsko-Biala, and then to the Szczyrk,
- from east countries - first travel to city Krakow, next to Bielsko-Biala, and then to the Szczyrk,

** If You travel by train...
- your final destination is train station "Bielsko-Biala Glowna", then you should let us know at what hour You will come - we provide travel from station to event site. With this option please write to me: xantvalley@gmail.com or call: +48 660527787

** If You travel by plane...
- your final destination should be airport in Katowice city, next You may rent a car or travel by bus call "Linia Lotnisko" to Katowice Centrum.

V. Lodging Options: Tournament + Full Accomodation

We may propose one of the following offers of full accommodation and the tournament fee in one

1. Full Fun Weekend option.
This option includes the tournament fee plus full accommodation for 2 nights, including 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 suppers.
We can offer the single rooms, double, triple or 4-person room. The players shall choose the room Chile pre-registering.
Costs: 265 zl / 65 euro – quite well for a weekend in mountains – especially if the price includes the entry to the Kotei we highly entourage you to use this option !

2. Fun Weekend option.
This option includes the tournament fee and full accommodation for 1 night from Saturday to Sunday, including 4 meals (lunch and supper on Saturday, and breakfast + lunch on Sunday)
Costs: 205 zł / 50 euro.

NOTICE
These options are available only with pre-registering. These options may be possible during the registration on Saturday, however they cost additional 20 PLN5/ 5 euro!

VI. Pre-registering and pre-payments

We highly entourage you to pre-registering – you save your funds and allow us to estimate the number of players in prior so that no one will have any problems with accommodation.

- Pre-registering and pre-payment may be concluded oficially until 15th March (because i have some troubles with post full tournament notice in english here, all players may pay for any options even on first tournament day - with my apologies).
- Pre-registering is done through mailing us on sklep.gnom@gmail.com – giving all the following data:
* Which tournament do you intend to play (in the case of L5r player sit is KOTEI)

If you choose the option of accomodation (witch we highly entourage) please indicate it in the e-mail!
After you send us the e-mail we shall re-send you the e-mail with the account number to paid, but there will be no problem with payment on tournament day - less troubles with international money transfer.

VII. Requirments

- Players are bound to know and respect the rules for events set by AEG.All the info can be found here: http://rules.l5r.com/
- Players are bound to be polite and to keep the gaming place tidy. Please try to act in such a way that no one attending the Kotei feels it was a waste of time
- Every player is bound to track the changes of family honor during the game
- If the player’s deck bounds him to have any tokens, the player is bound to have them. It is not allowed to use just a scraps of paper as tokens.
