You do -have- to target 2 personalities is my thing.

Battle:[/b] Choose one or two of your performing Personalities with 7 or higher base Force:

We're talking about Stand as the Mountain, right?

You think people who comment about how good or bad a card is read it first? Fie on you!  :D

This card is bent as 7th edition Daemons.

....that's pretty bent.

I still don't exactly see how this is broken.  It's battle only, has a narrower restriction, and only straightens the personalities (not the units).  I'll grant that it's good, but I'm not seeing broken here.

This is better than Yojimbo's Duty by a lot.

Berserkers don't have attachments generally, the berserker IS the unit. And even if he has a couple of 1F followers or some rubbish, I'm fairly certain those are the least of your worries when he straightens a MINIMUM of 14F (after you FINALLY got some actions to actually "stick" )

It's not bent because of what it does, it's bent because of what it does to the deck it goes into.

You do -have- to target 2 personalities is my thing. Now, that's not hard to do for Berserkers, but there will be times they're swinging at a province (or two) with just one. In that case the ability to even use the card from hand is a plus and gaining an additional effect or having the option to do something else (I'm comparing it to Immoveable here) is gravy.

I'm not rules team and I'm usually wrong, but this card states that you choose 1 or 2, it's more of a suggestion than a guideline, no targeting involved. The only thing this card has going against it, is the "performing".  In a mirror match Nikaru could make this card dead in hand.

Your right.  You do not have to have two personalities to use the action.  It can just straighten one.  I disagree though that the card is good enough to trade out for a yojimbo's duty, only because it isn't useful in open.  Someone was suggesting it would take the place of caught in the act, but even that seems to not exactly be a good use of the action due to the tempo loss.  I am not convinced that the card has a slot yet, but we will see.

If a berserker player switches his yojimbo's duty cards out for this, I will be very pleased.  The most prevalent bow cards I use (rocky terrain, gc, and asahina stronghold) do not give them the opportunity to utilize this card, so winfall for non-magistrate crane.

Whatevs.  That soooo convinces me.  ;) I'm not going down that road of a faux game.  If you think its that easy to beat crane, well good for you.  But having played a lot of games lately in the environment, I happen to think that Crane actually have a very strong honor rocket, similar to my build in early CE.

You guys still haven't explained what exactly makes this card broken?  I mean its good, but broken?  I don't see the evidence.

The strength of this card comes from the fact that it takes a lot to get an action to effect a berserker and when you finally do, he has another option to undo what you just did to him.

But that doesn't make this card broken. Rather it makes the SH broken.

This card makes me wonder what Crab would do if they didn't have Hiruma Nikaru.

It's not that Crane is not strong, it's just that military is going berserk (no pun intended) right now. That kinda explains why Crane is yet to win a Kotei - it's just easier to smash face take 4 provinces than to sit back and hope you cross with the right cards in hand to defend.

How has Lion ancestors or ToP won then?

"Ace Ace is far better than 7 2 offsuit in poker. So how come I won a hand with 10 10 against it the other day?"

Lion Ancestors and ToP are both good decks. At what point does that mean they're on par with certain military decks' ability to win koteis? Yes the honour decks CAN win koteis. But both from the results we've seen (*cough Kensai and Crabs cough* ), and most peoples' personal experience, military is a much safer bet to take a kotei with. This has been the case for the MAJORITY of the last 6 years or so of L5R (and I can't really talk earlier than that).
