I really think someone should expose this, and that should lead to the end of the Sparrow Clan. Not like what calls itself Sparrow Clan nowadays has any solid relationship to the Clan of yore anyway...The Spider already killed all capable Samurai, probably killed most of the ruling family except for a few easily manipulated ones (if they didn't murder them all outright and installed one of theirs as Daimyo via forging documents that made him a distant realtive to the now sadly extinct line)...

The Sparrow has been dead for 3 decades now. Exposing their fate and probably finishing the Clan is not cruel, but kind, absolving the Sparrow from being a slave to the most pointlessly evil, detestable and unimaginative faction in the empire.

Source Goddesses IV

Quote
Satsu grimaced. “For their role in the defense of the Empire, and for the ongoing safety and security of the souls of her people… the Empress confers Great Clan status to the members of the formerly outlawed Spider Clan. All members are granted full amnesty, and holdings for the Spider are to be allowed to be constructed in the unaligned lands, pending approval by the Imperial families.”

Expose the Spider for what? Something that transpired before they were granted amnesty? Spider Clan defended the Empire pretty hard during the destroyer War. Surely something as trivial as moving into a minor house can be overlooked.

All members are granted amnesty. That doesn't mean that exposing their treachery and evil deeds can't hurt their standing in the Empire. And in this specific case, it is an ancient Crane related family. We have all good reasons to get involved. Last but not least, we have a serious old grudge with the Spider. Two words:
* Heir
* Jorihime

Sure. I'll play this game.
$100 for a non-Spider winner to pick Kakita Kazan to expose the Spider.

Not only would it bring me happiness to see the Spider burn for their crimes, it'd make me even happier to have good ol' Idzuki do it.

Disclaimer: The winner must have Paypal. ;)

I really love the Sparrow, so I'm going to add £15 (I know it's not a lot, but I is poor.) to this, hopefully it will encourage more Cranes to donate. :)

Do you realize the implication of this?  The Empress has forgiven the Spider and granted them Great Clan status... you would be trying to show fault in her judgement.. . .  surely, you don't want the Crane to lose favor with Her would you?

Purely speaking in general here, but when it comes to a choice between Kali-Ma and her Destroyers vs. Iweko, I'm going to choose the one who hasn't allied with the god of darkness and made deals with the shadowlands.

Just, you know, saying.

Talking about the storyline event is great and all, guys, but remember not to stray too far off topic of the event itself.

When one Crane is more honorable than the entire Spider clan, I don't think Iweko will mind. Especially if it gets her out of the proverbial 'deal with the devil'.

Just one week until the fate of the Sparrow Clan is decided!

I can't wait to see what happens.  ;D  Good luck to all who are attending!

I'd really like the option of keeping it a secret to save face for the Sparrow, if it also meant the infiltration could be ended by covert means.

If the infiltration just continues, that's a choice between "kill the Sparrow/Spider win more". That's a great, tough choice (for most clans, anyway.) It really means something, and I like that.

For the honoured memory of the Sparrow, the Crane should desire to see the infiltrators exposed and destroyed, and any loyal Sparrow survivors to return to the Clan.
