I think you are also paying for the 3 focus value instead of a 1. I'd rather pay 2 less gold and get a nightingale blade. One less force but 4 focus and a good ability.

This card was most likely designed for drafting/prerelease events, and when the set became DtP, they just left it intact.

I'm counting 2 less Force ... but I still agree with the choice.

It's an acceptable Force/Gold ratio at least, but I agree with Tetsuro's assessment. There's just no other reason to play it over other cards currently.
