a flying crane ?

And a small question please.
How long has it take you for such an impressive piece. I'm also working my banner crafting skill at the moment, so any advice would be welcome.

Excellent Ayaki-san! It looks great. I hope to be able to be in Paris to see the final product by myself.  :)

Me ? Not long. Sadly I don't have the skill to do such a banner. I have a very nice step-mother  ;D. Of course, as she is giving me such an amazing help, I try to make myself as useful as I can, but it's hard ! She has been working during hours and hours for now 4 days. Not only does she have the skill and the experience, but she also has the necessary tools to obtain such a result. So I'm afraid I can't help you much since I know nothing about sewing at all. She deserves all the credit for the banner.

Regarding the banner, we were supposed to glue the Crane mon on the banner. I bought a special "paper" which is specially made for this purpose. But since it seems I bought a cheap version of it, it doesn't glue well at all. So she will have to sew the mon on the banner, which won't have the perfect result we expected. If we had known, I would have bought a more expensive "paper" that would have fulfilled its duty properly :( !

It's finished ! Now I have to find the bamboos and a good rope to attach them nicely.

(It doesn't seem that huge, but remember it's 2 meters high and 1 meter wide !)

It's supposed to be the ground, with a pound in the middle, but I agree it's not that obvious.

If we ever have time to 'complete' the banner, we will probably add a carp on the bottom left corner, the right part of a japanese pavilion on the left side of the banner between the 'ground' and the mon, and maybe a moon on the top-right corner (under the mon). All those should make it a bit more obvious that is it some "ground" that is represented, with kind of a pound in between, where the Crane flies.

Was that taken in a dorm room?

Nope, it was taken at my step-mother's place.
